World Blood Donor day takes place on 14th June every year and the slogan for this year is ‘Give Blood and Keep the World Beating’. Each year the campaign aims to raise global awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products for transfusion and to thank donors for their contributions to national health systems.
Safe blood and transfusion products are an essential part of healthcare and save millions of lives each year and to ensure countries those who need it have access to blood transfusions, its essential that donors continue to volunteer and that more people begin to donate blood regularly.
