Fibrinogen

Fibrinogen Immunoturbidimetric Multipoint Calibration Reagents

The Fortress Diagnostics Fibrinogen test is used for quantitative determination of Fibrinogen levels in Plasma. Fibrinogen is a plasma glycoprotein synthesised in the liver and is essential for haemostasis, wound healing, cellular and matrix interactions and neoplasia.

Normal Fibrinogen activity results in normal blood clotting ability. Elevated levels may be seen in Acute infections, Carcinoma, CHD, Stroke and inflammatory disorders like rheumatoid arthritis and glomerulonephritis. Chronically low levels may be related to decreased production due to an inherited condition like afibrinogenemia or hypofibrinogenemia.
